# Raise a Glass > A toast helper for the holiday table - a Thanksgiving dinner, a Friendsgiving, a family meal, a holiday party. Two lanes over one form. Write: type a few true details about the people at the table ("Name: what they did", one per line) and get a toast in five beats - open, story, bridge, thanks, raise. Tune: paste your own draft and get every sentence judged keep, cut or edit, with the tuned toast in five beats. Every line is timed at an estimated 130 spoken words a minute against a 30, 45, 60 or 90 second target, and the toast is drawn as a layer cake in cross-section, one layer per beat, as tall as its speaking time. URL: https://raise-a-glass.skillsafe.ai/ API tutorial: https://raise-a-glass.skillsafe.ai/api.html ## Free, in the browser - The detail reader: who each detail is about (a "Name:" prefix) and the page's reading of it - usable, general praise, logistics, a teasing topic, or a topic you asked to avoid. - The draft splitter and timer: sentences numbered in order, words and estimated seconds per sentence and in total, and flags for an apology or disclaimer about speaking, an inside joke ("you know who you are"), a word people get teased about (weight, money, love life, politics, drinking...), a topic you listed to avoid, and a sentence over thirty words. - The cake: before a run, the suggested time per beat (open 15%, story 35%, bridge 15%, thanks 20%, raise 15%) or your draft as one layer per sentence; after a run, the toast's five beats on a ruler of seconds with a dashed line at your target. - Exports: copy the toast, a cue card (.txt, short lines per beat), Markdown, JSON, print; kept toasts (in the browser, or in your account when signed in). A handoff button sends a written toast to the tune lane as a draft. ## Metered (gpt-terra), two tasks - write: details -> a verdict by ordered rules. needs-details (fewer than two usable details - a specific thing someone did, said, made or brought, a moment, a first, a reason to thank them; 2-3 questions to answer instead of a toast), otherwise ready (five beats within 15% of the target's word count). A detail that teases or touches a topic to avoid is left out. - tune: draft -> a verdict by ordered rules, first match wins. rework (a sentence teases someone about body, weight, looks, age, money, work troubles, love life, divorce, religion, politics, health or drinking, or touches a topic to avoid - or the draft holds no specific detail at all), trim (more than 15% over the target's word count, or a sentence that apologises for the toast, is an inside joke, repeats itself or lists names with no reasons), ready (otherwise). Every change is a note - cut, or edit with the replacement sentence - and the tuned toast comes back in five beats. The model may use only the input: no person, relationship, food, place, date, weekday, season, memory or reason it does not state; nobody called he or she unless the input does; no digits that are not in the input. The page re-checks every reply: five beats in order, ids that exist, cuts that really left the toast, length against the target, and no capitalised name, number or pronoun the input does not hold. ## Sources Built on the SkillSafe skill @jmsktm/speech-writer - https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@jmsktm/speech-writer - (memorable speeches: a strong opening, one concrete story, a line that turns it into meaning, thanks that name names, a close the room can act on), scaled down to a toast. Speaking times are estimates at 130 words a minute, not measurements.
